AsiaInfo Services 05-24-2004 Foreign Banks Allowed to Offer RMB Services in Beijing This Dec. BEIJING, May 24, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Foreign banks will be allowed to offer RMB services in Beijing as of December 11, 2004, stated Wang Qishan, mayor of Beijing Municipality, on May 19 at the Beijing International Finance Forum. This will be in line with China's commitment to the World TradeOrganization (WTO), said Mr.
Wang at the forum. The mayor also cited some data to illustrate the importance and weight of the financial services sector in Beijing's economic development.
