AsiaInfo Services 06-17-2004 Acer and ASUSTek Compete for Laptop Computer Market CHINA, Jun 17, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Many laptop computer producers express that Acer and ASUSTek Computer Inc. (ASUSTek) are competing to be the largest laptop computer maker of China on the globe, but they are taking the different operating strategy. In the last quarter of this year, Acer's total order volume from the mainland China will increase to 50 percent to 60 percent. Moreover, the ratio will be jacked up to 60 percent to 70 percent in the first half of next year, and then the ratio willcontinue to be heightened to 80 percent to 100 percent in the second half of the year.
