AsiaInfo Services 08-31-2004 China Unicom, CCB Launches Mobile Phone Banking Services CHENGDU, Aug 31, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China United Telecommunications Corporation (China Unicom), the second largest mobile telecom carrier in the country after China Mobile, launched the cellphone bank service in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province on August 26, supported by China Construction Bank (CCB). CCB, China's second largest state-owned commercial bank, joinedforce with China Unicom to announced that the cellphone users in Chengdu would be able to buy airplane ticket via their cellphones by the end of this year.
