AsiaInfo Services 10-25-2004 Intel CPU Cuts Price Down, Notebook Makers Give No Response BEIJING, Oct 25, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Intel officially lowered down the price of Pentium M Dothan CPU on October 17. According to the latest prices announced by Intel, the price ofthe Pentium M 755 processor, which has a main frequency of 2G and a cache of 2 MB, falls by 34% from USD637 to USD423.

Meanwhile, the price of Pentium M745 processor, which has a main frequency of 1.8G, goes down from USD423 to USD294. Even though the price cut on CPU is as much as 34%, the major notebook PC producers in China made no reactions. The indifference toward the price cut of CPU is mainly attributed to the makers like ASUS, HP, BenQ, and Toshiba have made a price reduction...
