AsiaInfo Services 11-26-2004 Wal-Mart Approves of Setting Up Trade Union in China BEIJING, Nov 26, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- The world's largest retailer Wal-Mart recently announced that it would allow establishing trade unions at its Chinese stores, provided that employees required. The announcement was thought to be a result of the pressure from the Chinese labor federation.

Last month, All China Federation of Trade Unions with 123 million members threatened to sue Wal-Mart unless the US company agreed to establish unions at its Chinese stores, sources said, but the labor federation made no comments on this.
