AsiaInfo Services 12-01-2004 China to Lower Tariff to 10.1% in 2005 CHINA, Dec 01, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China will lower the general tariff from 10.6 percent in 2004 to about 10.1 percent in 2005 at the commitment of China's WTO entry, revealed informatives. To be specific, that on industrial goods will decline from 9.8 percent to 9.3 percent, and that on agricultural products will be down from 15.8 percent to 15.5 percent. There will be tariff cuts for over a thousand imported goods atdifferent levels.
Some commodities of information technologies will meet a zero tariff. The tariff against entire vehicles will be down to 30 percent or below, while that against parts and accessories will drop to13 percent on average. China will also open the...
