AsiaInfo Services 01-27-2005 KFC Expands into Rural Area GUANGDONG, Jan 27, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- The 200th KFC in Guangdong started operation on January 20, and the first KFC in rural area also stared service in Yantian village in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. A manager of Yum! Brands Guangdong branch said KFC would not only enter the second- and three-tier cities, but also towns and villages in rural areas in China.
The rural areas in the Pearl River Delta develop well, and they will also be targeted market for KFC, one operation of Yum! Brands. In recent three years, KFC has stepped up expansion in Guangdong.
