AsiaInfo Services 03-15-2005 China Mobile to Expand 2G Network with USD7.8bn in 2005 BEIJING, Mar 15, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Chairman of China Mobile Wang Jianzhou recently said they plan to inject USD 7.8 billion (USD1 = CNY 8.27) in expansion of current (2G) mobile communications network this year, and the figure is 47% higher than budget. For 2006 and 2007, the company would pump USD 6.5 billion and USD 5.5 billion in the network, excluding investment in 3G business. For the moment, the company will fully make use of current technology, network and resources, getting ready for 3G networkconstruction, the chairman pointed out.
