AsiaInfo Services 04-05-2005 China Telecom PHS' ARPU Drops to CNY39.9 in 2004 BEIJING, Apr 05, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Telecom Corporation (China Telecom), one of the largest global telecommunication carriers in China, announced that the average revenue per user (ARPU) ofPersonal Handyphone System (PHS) dropped to CNY39.9 from CNY42 of 2003, according to the insider. In addition, the ARPU of broadband network decreased to CNY102 from CNY136, mainly because the ARPU of its ten provincial networks it purchased last year was relatively low, and most ofits newly added users were low-end ones. China Telecom's growth in 2005 is mainly due to its value-addedbusiness, color ring back tone and short message, and rapidly increased broadband business....
