AsiaInfo Services 04-11-2005 Samsung Electronics Finishes Optical Communication Plant in Hainan HAIKOU, Apr 11, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Samsung Electronics Hainan Fiberoptics Co. Ltd., established by Samsung Electronics in Haikou last year, recently accomplished construction of its optical fiber plant in Haikou Free Trade Zone in Haikou city ofHainan Province. The plant will manufacture optical fiber, optical cables and optical fiber rods.
The core technology to make optical fiber rods is completely mastered by Samsung Electronics. The annual sales is estimated to reach USD 784 million after the whole plant starts production, while the plant is likely toexport optical fiber products by 1 million kilometers in 2005.
