(NYSE: AVP), one of the world's largest beauty product direct sellers, announces that it has obtained the approval from the Chinese government to trial direct selling in three regions in the country. Andrea Jung, CEO and chairperson of Avon, declared in Beijing on April 8, 2005 that the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration of Industry and Commerce of China had granted go-ahead to Avon China to test direct selling in Beijing, Tianjin, and a southern province of Guangdong.
