AsiaInfo Services 05-02-2005 China Unicom's Q1 Profits Declined 26% BEIJING, May 02, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom's net profits in thefirst quarter of 2005 declined 26 percent to CNY 1.06 billion from CNY 1.44 billion in the same period of the previous year, according to its fiscal report released on April 28. Analysts estimated that China Unicom's net profits over the period would be CNY 1.07 billion, and its full-year profits would rise by 7 percent to CNY 4.7 billion. In the fourth quarter of 2004, the company's net profits dropped by 9 percent year on year.
