AsiaInfo Services 05-12-2005 China Unicom to Launch CDMA/GSM Card Business in Guangdong GUANGDONG, May 12, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom is to launch CDMA/GSM card business in Guangdong market this month. In the future, customers of the mobile carrier will be able to use various services of CDMA network and GSM network with one handset card. The group made the SIM card of GSM phones and the UIM card of CDMA phones into one card, so customers can easily switch between the two networks. Compared with dual-mode handset service, the CDMA/GSM card business presents more merits, such as free network switch and lower charges. While releasing the dual-mode card business, the company will post charge standard.
