AsiaInfo Services 05-16-2005 Microsoft Sets Up JV with SAIL for MSN Internet Service SHANGHAI, May 16, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Microsoft posted an announcement on May 11 that it will set up a 50-50 joint venture with government-operated Shanghai Alliance Investment Ltd. (SAIL) for its MSN Internet services in China. The joint venture has won approval from related department and has officially registered to set up.
The joint venture has alsoreached a strategic partnership with Tsinghua-Shenxun Science &Technology Co., Ltd., and it will also buy assets from the latter, ensuring to provide MSN-based mobile products and services to Chinese and even international customers. Microsoft has already offered MSN services such as Hotmail and Messenger services...
