AsiaInfo Services 05-24-2005 Taobao.com Aims to Be Lead in China's Online Shopping Market BEIJING, May 24, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Taobao.com stated on May 20 that itexpected to take the lead in China's online shopping market with huge potential for growth. Alibaba.com CEO Jack Ma said China's online shopping market will be monopolize by two magnates in the future, and Taobao.com is likely to take 70 percent of the market while itsarch rival eBay 20-30 percent. The battle between Taobao.com and eBay is stepping up. The world's leading e-commerce website eBay.com entered into China in 2004.
