AsiaInfo Services 07-07-2005 BenQ Claims Innocent in Siemens' Job Cut Move BEIJING, Jul 07, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- The high level of BenQ claimed that it has nothing to do with the job cut by Siemens China.BenQ has just purchased the mobile phone unit from Siemens. No less than one month later, 150 Chinese salesmen in the mobile phone unit of Siemens were laid off with only dozens left.
The forced retirement by Siemens provoked the dissatisfaction of the laid-off.BenQ chairman K.Y. Lee claimed the two former pay systems have been kept unchanged. BenQ did not ask Siemens to cut jobs in China although Siemens had asked for suggestions upon job cuts. Actually, Siemens had some plans to readjust the personnel structure when it suffered losses in the mobile phone...
