AsiaInfo Services 07-14-2005 Volkswagen Still Topped Rank of Automakers in H1 CHINA, Jul 14, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Volkswagen was still atop the rank of automakers with H1 sales of 265,000 vehicles and an 18% market share, said VW China.The total sales include 136,000 vehicles by Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., 126,000 units by FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., and 3,000 imported vehicles.Data from China National Passenger Vehicle Association shows that VW China took 18% of China's auto market, a slight drop of 0.9% compared with 18.9%in the first quarter.A person close to VW China argued that the company only proclaimed wholesale data like other automakers before the end of last year, but there is a discrepancy between it and the actual...
