AsiaInfo Services 07-15-2005 Alcatel Shanghai Bell, SMG Launched IPTV Lab SHANGHAI, Jul 15, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and Alcatel Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd., on July 13 launched an IPTV lab in Shanghai, the first of its kind in China.The IPTV lab reportedly will strain every nerve to develop practical IPTV solutions, and boost the commercialization of IPTV services in China.It is the first time for a content provider to join hands with a telecom equipment provider to develop IPTV.The two parties will jointly form an expert group that will dedicate to development of digital rights management (DRM), management platform for broadcasting control, content integration and operation management platform.SMG is one of the largest media companies in...
