AsiaInfo Services 08-10-2005 4 Chinese Airways Bought 42 787 Jets from Boeing BEIJING, Aug 10, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Four Chinese airline companies has entered into an agreement with the US plane maker Boeing to buy 42 787 jets worth USD 5.04 billion (USD 1 = CNY 8.11).China's flag carrier Air China and China Eastern will each buy 15 planes, Shanghai Airlines will buy nine planes, and Xiamen Airline will buy three planes.
Boeing will deliver the first jet of the batch to China in 2008.Moreover, Air China and China Eastern suspended share trading on Stock Exchange of Hong Kong for the huge deal.At the end of January this year, six Chinese airline companies inked an agreement with Boeing to purchase 60 787 dreamliners, and the 42 jets are a part of the...
