AsiaInfo Services 08-30-2005 Hong Kong Venture Capital Firm Posted Sharp Growth HONG KONG, Aug 30, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- CITIC Pacific Limited(SEHK: 0267)posted a significant growth for the first half of this year ended June 30, 2005.The Hong Kong-based company earned HKD 2.773 billion in net profits in the first six months, up about 60% from a year earlier.
The earnings per share amounted to HKD 1.26. The company paid interim dividend of HKD 0.30 a share.The growth can be attributive to its investment in special steel sector and property management sector.However, it lost money in its aviation business and power generation business resulting from soaring oil prices.
