AsiaInfo Services 09-02-2005 Baidu Overruns Google in Three Major Chinese Cities BEIJING, Sep 02, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- A survey conducted by China's Internet information center showed that Google has lost in market competition to Baidu, one of its major rivals in China.The survey was made in August in three major Chinese cities-- Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.According to the result, in the past six months, the market shares of Baidu increased 10% in these three cities while that of Google has remained unchanged.Statistics also say that when making Internet search, 51.5% of Beijing netizens prefer Baidu, and 32.9% use the second runner-up, Google.The similar proportions for Baidu and Google in Shanghai and Guangzhou are respectively 43.9% to 38.2%, and 48% to...
