AsiaInfo Services 09-08-2005 Google Rolls out Local Search for Chinese Users BEIJING, Sep 08, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- SinoCASt ?C Google officially rolls out "local search", the latest search service, for Chinese users, disclosed James Mi, director of products of Asia Pacific region for Google. The service is not only able to help users find names of neighboring companies on Internet but also can assist them to see geographic locations of different companies. The service combined company directory, map and information from the web, and accordingly it turned into powerful local information source, James Mi said. The map database provider for Google's "local search" is Mapabc, which is a company of China.
