AsiaInfo Services 09-14-2005 Morgan Stanley Lifts Air China's Earnings Forecast CHINA, Sep 14, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- On September 9, Morgan Stanley lifted Air China's earnings forecast for 2005-2007 by 50%, 35% and 18% respectively in an announcement. According to Air China's interim report 2005, its operating revenues jumped 14.7% year-on-year to CNY 16.939 billion while its net profits fell 25% to CNY 591 million, principally due to oil price rise.
The net profits missed its expectation of about CNY 600 million. The carrier's operating costs increased by CNY 2.559 billion from the same period of last year.
