AsiaInfo Services 09-15-2005 Lenovo Gives Up Plan of Entering Australian Consumer PC Market BEIJING, May 09, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Lenovo recently abandoned its plan of selling consumer PC in Australia this year, because it thought the time was not mature. On May 1, Lenovo officially announced that it had completed theUSD 1.75 billion purchase of IBM's PC unit, a sign that it has become the world's third largest PC maker. Lenovo thinks much of Australia's consumer market, but it hasn't decided when to step into the market, said Alan Munro, Lenovo's managing director for Australia.
