AsiaInfo Services 10-14-2005 China Unicom to Close Paging Service Nationwide by Yearend BEIJING, Oct 14, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China United Telecommunications Corporation (China Unicom) announced plans to stop the paging service in central China's Henan Province as of October 11. The leading telecom operator so far has stopped most of its paging services and plans to end such business nationwide by the end of the year, indicating an end of a communication era. As for those paging subscribers, China Unicom offers some preferential measures to encourage them to subscribe for the mobile communication services.
