AsiaInfo Services 10-17-2005 DoCoMo to Make Strategic Investment in Chinese Mobile Operator BEIJING, Oct 17, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Japan's biggest mobile operator NTT DoCoMo plans to make strategic investment in a Chinese mobile operator to further promote its i-mode Internet technology, said Ayumu Futakata from the company on October 12. Futakata didn't specify the name of the potential investment target, but said that the company will not take those who only adopted China's homegrown 3G standard TD-SCDMA into consideration, because DoCoMo is lacking technologies as well as experience. The company hopes to enter into partnership with those that adopt W-CDMA standards. There are three mainstream 3G standards in China, TD-SCDMA, W-CDMA, CDMA2000....
