AsiaInfo Services 10-20-2005 Sony Not to Cut Jobs in China SHANGHAI, Oct 20, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- New Sony CEO Howard Stringer said job reduction will not take place in China. As Sony's business has been clearly struggling, the company released a restructuring plan to reduce the operating cost this September, including axing 10,000 staffs and closing 11 factories. However, as China has the market of great potential for growth, Sony will not eliminate jobs there and will also step up investments in China, said the new CEO.
