AsiaInfo Services 12-05-2005 BP Sets Up Solar Power Development JV with Xinjiang Sunoasis XINJIANG, Dec 05, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- BP, one of the world's four photovoltaic makers, has planned to set up a joint venture with China Xinjiang Sunoasis Co., Ltd. to jointly develop China's solar power generating market. The joint venture with USD 10 million in registered capital is 49 percent owned by BP and 51 percent by Xinjiang Sunoasis.

It has power generating capacity of 25 megawatts. Currently, the total installed capacity of solar power generating units in China is around 70 megawatts.
