AsiaInfo Services 12-29-2005 Sony China Fined for Understating Sales Revenue BEIJING, Dec 29, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Sony (China) Limited was found giving a false report of its sales revenue and payable welfarism during China's recent first economic census, and has been fined CNY 30,000 as a punishment. According to the results of the economic census, Sony China was included among those who offered false economic information and thus will be investigated and given due punishment. Officials with Beijing statistics bureau confirmed the news on December 25 and told journalists that the company understated its sales revenue by CNY 1.8 billion and payable welfarism by CNY 5.98 million.
