CNPC, GAZPROM PLAN TO BUILD UNDERGROUND GAS DEPOT IN CHINA

AsiaInfo Services 12-29-2005 CNPC, Gazprom Plan to Build Underground Gas Depot in China BEIJING, Dec 29, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Russia's Gazprom inked a feasibility research service contract on construction of underground gas storage facility in petroleum pool of Renqiu oil field. The oil pool has a huge amount of gas reserve and it is also convenient for gas injection and outfan because it is adjacent to Beijing-Tianjin and Shaanxi-Beijing transmission pipelines. The construction of the underground gas depot will greatly enhance energy supply capacity and operating efficiencies of the two lines, playing an active role in easing short gas supply for Beijing-Tianjin area during peak hours.
