AsiaInfo Services 01-03-2006 china unicom ltd.[(chu)] China Unicom Partners with Gome for Sale of CDMA Handsets BEIJING, Jan 03, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China's second largest mobile carrier China Unicom will open operating offices at all stores of Gome, a home appliance distributor, across the country for sale of CDMA handsets, according to a joint announcement by the two companies. The two sides aired that they have clinched a national strategic partnership agreement and started to vend CDMA handsets as well as various personalized services in the operating offices. Sources close to the matter said China Unicom takes the move specially to promote its CDMA mobile phones.
