AsiaInfo Services 02-28-2006 Mitsubishi to Withdraw from China's Mobile Phone Market BEIJING, Feb 28, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Mitsubishi Corp., Japan's largest general trading company with over 200 bases of operations in approximately 80 countries worldwide, plans to withdraw from China's mobile phone market in an all-round way. Mitsubishi Soyea Mobile Communication Equipment Co., Mitsubishi's mobile phone manufacturing company in China, recently announced that it will close down its mobile phone units in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Meanwhile, it will lay off employees engaged in research and development, production, sale, and after-sale services and those employees in the headquarters and its sales divisions.
