AsiaInfo Services 03-02-2006 China Unicom to Order More Home-made Handsets BEIJING, Mar 02, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom, the second largest mobile telecom operator in the country, revealed on February 28 that it would step up efforts to purchase more mobile phones made by domestic manufacturers. Last December, the company released the second batch of suppliers for its Worldwind dual-mode handsets, Shenzhen-based Yulong came to the list as the sole domestic handset manufacturer together with the big-tickets Samsung and LG, while Motorola disappeared from the list this time.
