AsiaInfo Services 03-03-2006 Chinese Oil Giant CNPC Re-launches Pipeline Construction XINJIANG, Mar 03, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), the biggest oil and gas producer in the country, restarted building its pipeline for oil products on March 1. The pipeline for oil products is expected to be put into operation at the end of May, and its pipeline for crude oil is scheduled for operation at the end of October. The crude oil pipeline will start from Shanshan County in Xinjiang.

It is designed to be 1,878 kilometers long and be capable of transmitting 20 million tons a year. And it will transmit crude oil from the large basins in the region, including the Tarim Basin and the Turpan-Hami Basin. The pipeline for oil products...
