CHINA UNICOM'S USER BASE INCREASED BY 1.17MN IN FEBRUARY

AsiaInfo Services 03-22-2006 China Unicom's User Base Increased by 1.17mn in February BEIJING, Mar 22, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom, the country's second largest mobile telecom carrier, reported that its user base increased by 1.17 million to 130.27 million in February 2006. The number of newly-added users in February is 1,310,000 less than that of the previous month. In February, the Chinese telecom carrier's GSM user base added by 888,000 and the total number reached 96.95 million.
While its CDMA user base added by 278,000 and the total number reached 33.32 million. China Unicom still falls behind its biggest home rival in terms of user base. China Mobile, the country's largest mobile telecom carrier, has a big user base of 250.72 million...
