AsiaInfo Services 05-02-2006 Trans-Pacific Express Cable Network to Be Built BEIJING, May 02, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Recently, China's two biggest telecom carriers China Telecom and China Netcom signed a memo with three foreign counterparts on the construction of the Trans-Pacific Express Cable Network. This cable network will connect China Mainland, Taiwan, South Korea and America together and provide the customers of these areas with better audio, data and video services. According to the memo, the cable system, with designed capacity of 5.12T, will adopt the technology of WDM transmission.
