AsiaInfo Services 05-02-2006 China Unicom Reports Q1 Revenues of CNY22.9bn BEIJING, May 02, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom, the country's second largest mobile telecom carrier, posted total revenues of CNY 22.9 billion for the first quart of this year, up 9.8% compared with the same quarter of last year, according to its recently-released financial results for the quarter. The report also showed that the company's first-quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased 11.5% year on year to CNY 7.67 billion, with a EBITDA rate of 33.5%. Respectively, China Unicom's revenues from GSM businesses during the quarter climbed 18.6% to CNY 14.31 billion, along with CNY 1.87 billion of profit before tax in this segment. ...
