AsiaInfo Services 05-17-2006 Tokyo Stock Exchange Woos Chinese Firms BEIJING, May 17, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China and Japan are scheduled to hold a seminar on securities markets on May 18, in an effort to strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the realm of capital markets. At present, Tokyo Stock Exchange, the top leader of its industry in Asia, is taking active measures to entice potential Chinese firms to list there amid the fast-growing Chinese economy. The Japanese bourse has sent staff to visit relevant Chinese companies and large-sized securities houses, explaining the advantages of listings at the bourse, the listing system and concrete listing procedure since 2002.
