AsiaInfo Services 05-19-2006 NetEase Made CNY451mn Income from Online Game Service in Q1 BEIJING, May 19, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- NetEase.com, Inc. brought in CNY 451 million income from online game business in the first quarter of this year, chief executive William Ding unveiled at a conference. However, the company, one of the major Internet portals in China, just spent over CNY 40 million on operation during the same period.
Thus, gross profit margin of the online game business exceeded 90%. In the first three months, the portal pulled in total CNY 530 million revenues. CNY 451 million proceeds from the game business makes up 85% of the overall amount. In the meantime, earnings from online advertising and wireless services take a small proportion. ...
