AsiaInfo Services 05-19-2006 Volkswagen China Denies Rumor of Skoda Engine Project SHANGHAI, May 19, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Volkswagen China denied the rumor that a battle broke out between Shanghai Volkswagen and a Taiwan enterprise for the introduction of the Skoda engine project. The automaker argued that its present operations include Skoda complete vehicle manufacture, but it has never participated in the competition for the Skoda engine project. News said that Skoda, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, manages to establish an engine plant in Asia next year.
