AsiaInfo Services 05-26-2006 Shanghai Unicom Sneakily Finished GSM Upgrade SHANGHAI, May 26, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Shanghai Unicom, the Shanghai branch of the nation's second largest mobile telecommunications carrier China Unicom, revealed at China International Communication Exhibition that it had finished the upgrade of its GSM networks. At present, Shanghai Unicom has about 5 million users and 3 million of them are GSM users.
After the upgrade, the speed of connecting to the Internet of its network will be greatly improved. Meanwhile, its mobile phone users also can surf the Internet through their mobile phones.
