AsiaInfo Services 06-06-2006 China Unicom: 17% Revenue Comes from Digital Business HONG KONG, Jun 06, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom Ltd. (SEHK: 0762), the second largest mobile telecom carrier in China, announces 17% of its total revenue in 2005 comes from data business. Moreover, the company is considering setting up a digital music platform to luring more developers and partners, to access to their digital music resources. Li Zhengmao, vice president of China Unicom, reveals that 2% to 3% of the company's customers accepted the color ring back tone services at the beginning of 2005 but the figure sharply jumped up to 25% at the end of last year.
