AsiaInfo Services 06-14-2006 Belgian Brewer InBev Ended Acquisition of China Peer FUJIAN, Jun 14, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Belgian brewer InBev has finished its eye-catching acquisition of Fujian Sedrin Brewery ahead of schedule, reading an InBev announcement. The deal, expected to be completed by yearend, is the largest-ever foreign acquisition of a Chinese beer brewery. Fujian Sedrin Brewery, which takes the eighth place in the Chinese beer industry, thus became a solely foreign-owned enterprise. InBev, the world's largest brewer by global sales, hence won a strong foothold in China's fragmented and undeveloped, yet fast-growing beer market.
