CHINA TELECOM SECTOR REBOUNDS TO RAPID GROWTH

AsiaInfo Services 06-23-2006 China Telecom Sector Rebounds to Rapid Growth BEIJING, Jun 23, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- From January to May of this year, China saw its revenue from the telecom sector surged by 11.4% from a year ago, according to statistics from the Ministry of Information Industry. In the first half of 2005, the Chinese telecom industry experiencing slowe growth.
From January to February of last year, the figure was even below 4%, far lower than the growth of GDP. In the past five months of this year, the turnover of telecom business amounted to CNY 563.95 billion, surging 24.9% year on year. The turnover of communication business totalled CNY 287.82 billion, rising 11.4% year on year. Meanwhile, the phone user base ballooned to 784.151...
