AsiaInfo Services 07-19-2006 Benz, BMW Compete Head-to-Head in China BEIJING, Jul 19, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Benz and BMW have been expanding at different paces in the global market, but they are competing head-to-head in China, known as the most potential luxury car market in the world. DaimlerChrysler disclosed that the sales volume of its sedans added up to 13,122 units in China in the first five months, up by 25% year on year, while that of Benz sedans came at 9,129 units, rising 40%. The expanding sales of Mercedes-Benz S-Class and DaimlerChrysler 300C sedans is the main contributor to its outstanding performance in China.

Although Benz is on the edge of stopping production in Beijing, it still takes a lion's share in the previous luxury car...
