AsiaInfo Services 07-20-2006 Cadillac STS Made in China Will Be Launched in November SHANGHAI, Jul 20, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Shanghai General Motors, who obtained the general dealership for Cadillac in China, has embarked on manufacturing Cadillac, a luxury brand under GM.. An insider indicates China-made Cadillac STS will be launched in Novembe at the Beijing auto show. In November 2004, GM supplied product division and components of Cadillac, valued at about USD 400 million to Shanghai GM to make Cadillacs locally. Because the Cadillac assembled in the past cannot meet the standard of locally-made complete vehicles, it has paid the same tariffs as imported cars.
