AsiaInfo Services 08-02-2006 GE Taps into China with New Tech BEIJING, Aug 02, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- GE Energy, one of the world's leading suppliers of power generation and energy delivery technologies, commences to apply an environmental-friendly and energy-saving technology to the Chinese power generation industry. The gas turbine modified by the company is able to turn coke oven gas (COG) into dynamoelectric fuel. Under a corporative agreement with Eurofo International Group, GE Energy will modify two 6B gas turbines to burn purified COG for power generation, and the two modified gas turbines will be installed at a new Eurofo combined-cycle plant in Xiaoyi city of Shanxi Province and expected to put into commercial operation by next July.
