AsiaInfo Services 08-11-2006 China CD-R Makers Boycott Philips Veeza Licensing System CHINA, Aug 11, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Audio-Video Association clarified recently that CD-R manufacturers in China Mainland have unanimously boycotted the Veeza licensing scheme of Philips, a major patent holder of CD-R products, by way of refusing to sign new licensing agreements.

And CD-R manufacturers in China Taiwan also expressed the same attitude in June. CD-R manufacturers have entrusted China Audio-Video Association to negotiate with Philips for more than 10 times, mainly about such key points as overhigh royalties and serious infringement of trade secrets of CD-R manufacturers, but so far the talks have yielded no results.
