AsiaInfo Services 11-15-2006 20th Century Fox to Sell Genuine DVDs at Low Price in China BEIJING, Nov 15, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation plans to sell genuine DVDs at low price of around CNY 20-25 to crack down on rampant pirate. Earlier, Warner Bros.
and Pictures Inc. had carried out the similar plan in China. The two parties expressed that their purpose was to take down pirate instead of competition. According to the data released by Motion Picture Association of America (MAPP), piratical DVDs in Chinese market brought a loss of USD 244 million for film box office and DVD sales in 2005.
