AsiaInfo Services 11-27-2006 China Unicom to Cooperate with Hanoi Telecom, VTI CHINA, Nov 27, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom announced on November 23 that the company would cooperate with Vietnam-based Hanoi Telecom Corporation and Vietnam Telecom International (VTI) in CDMA business and CDMA2000 technology. Besides, recently, the company had a trial on EGPRS upgrade from G network to mature transition mode 3G. In addition, the first phase project of cable interconnection project by China Unicom and VTI at Friendship Pass was completed and China Unicom can more conveniently develop business via China inland to other countries and territories depending on the cable interconnection.
